Google has announced YouTube Gaming, a new app and a
website that would compete with Twitch that was acquired by
Amazon last year, after several rumors that the streaming
service was being acquired by Google. YouTube Gaming will let
you watch gaming videos and live streams, similar to Twitch.
You can add a game to your collection to watch videos about
it. You will also get a notification when there is a live stream.
It also offers recommendations based on the games and
channels you love.
YouTube Gaming will have more than 25,000 games with own
page for each, so that it will be easy to watch videos and live
streams about that title. It has a homescreen that is designed
to put Live streams front-and-center. YouTube recently got
60fps live streaming, especially for those who are streaming
games. It will get improved live experience for making
gameplay broadcast to YouTube simpler, says Google.
YouTube Gaming will be roll out starting in the U.S. and U.K
beginning this Summer. You can sign-up through
gaming.youtube.com to be notified when it’s launched.
