Okowa, Oshiomhole, Umahi Others Shower Encomiums on Oyakhilome as AAU Honours Him

The founder of Believers Love World Ministries (aka Christ
Embassy), Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, was Thursday showered with
praises by the governments of Edo, Delta and Ebonyi States
including foremost politician Professor Jerry Gana as the Ambrose
Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma, Edo State conferred on him
honourary doctoral degree.

Oyakhilome was lauded for contributing to the development of
infrastructure in his Alma Mata and support for humanity through
his church work.
The evangelist last year built a 600 capacity hall at AAU, constructed
a solar-powered street light in the campus and recently donated
thousands of solar powered lamps fitted with radio and charging
point for mobile phones to all the students resident in the school
hostels.
At a Special Convocation Ceremony in his honour,  Governor Adams
Oshiomhole of Edo State represented by his Commissioner for
Higher Education, Washington Osifo said Oyakhilome who read
architecture from the school, is now “designing souls to be won for
Christ.”
He commended him for his support for the school and urged other
alumni to emulate him.
On their part, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi and Delta
State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa represented by his deputy,
Kingsley Otuaro described Pastor Oyakhilome as a role model
especially to young people.
Also, the former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virgy
Etiaba and Prof. Gerry Gana said Oyakhilome has demonstrated the
divine injunction helping the needy.
In his address, Chairman Governing Council, AAU, Professor Greg
Akenzua, said the pastor has used modern technology to promote
evangelism across the globe.
“His ministry has changed many societies and many nations and
haa produced many leaders by opening up their spiritual lives. You
have been able to win souls in every cranny of the world through
personal examples, through application of modern technology, you
have brought the word of God to everywhere in the world.
“When you passed through this school decades ago, little did we
know that we were planting a mustard seed. You have become a
mustard tree that has shaded many lives. It is in recognition of this
that we decided to honour you.”
In his response at the ceremony which was also attended by his
mother, Oyakhilome said he had rejected several such awards but
chose to accept that of AAU because of his special attachment to
the school.
He urged other alumni of the school to give back to school as he
pledged more support in future.
